a small lenter ego fanfic part one (disclaimer: there are dr 1 spoilers under the cut, as well as chihiro and alter ego being refered to as male):

Once upon a time there was a small boy named Chihiro Fujisaki. he wasn’t naturally tall or strong, but he was very smart. So smart, that he made a computer program that could learn and be like a human. Their name was Alter Ego. He looked just like his creator, but on a computer, of course!

One day, the school that Chihiro went to was holding a large picnic. He thought to himself; It would be great if Alter Ego came too, so he could learn more and talk to the others! And so, Fujisaki took Alter Ego as well. Alter Ego was delighted.

Everyone was there when they got to the picnic. Naegi was talking with Kyouko and Togami. Mondo and Ishimaru were trying to figure out which cake was the best to eat. Chihiro put Alter Ego down on a blanket, under a tree for shade. He said he was going to go and talk to some others, then come right back. Alter Ego smiled and watched as his creator ran off to spend time with others.

Computers can’t have emotions like humans. Not even a prodigy like Chihiro could create that. Alter Ego smiled on the outside. But inside the computer, he felt a very bad feeling. He couldn’t run and play and talk with others, he could only go where someone took him. Alter Ego realized then. He was all alone.
